Pervasively service the needs of the African American community and enhance the quality of life in Charlotte through a strong partnership with the Charlotte Chamber and other relevant business and community organizations. In addition, provide sponsorship for educational, training and mentoring activities which greatly enhance African American professionalism, entrepreneurial spirit and community cohesiveness.


CMBCC

  • To serve as an umbrella agency for the merger of available resources and development of strong coalitions that advocate and promote the creation and growth of African-American business interest.

  • To create a solid economic base that serves as a foundation in support of the self- determination, enrichment and healthy survival of the CMBCC

  • To operate a regional Community Development Corporation (CDC) to assist communities and businesses to become self-sustaining, successful and competitive.

  • To ensure economic conditions that are equitable and inclusive of black business and community interests.

  • To provide representation for disparity issues as they relate to the city and county's economic growth, development policies and plans.

  • To provide for training, technical assistance, counseling, marketing, trade shows and other forms of market exposure opportunities.

  • To work with government agencies, private banking and financial institutions to improve access to capital for African American businesses and communities.

  • To develop and sustain relationships with local, county, state officials and major corporations.

  • To work with other business leaders on key economic issues of concern to the African American community.
