MISSION STATEMENT
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Black Chamber of Commerce (CMBCC)
is primarily dedicated to the Economic Empowerment of the
African-American business community interest, and other
Minority communities as they may intersect.
The Goals Are:
To serve as an umbrella agency for the merger of available resources and development of strong coalitions that advocate and promote the creation and growth of African-American business interest.
• To create a solid economic base that serves as a foundation in support of the self- determination, enrichment and healthy survival of the CMBCC
• To operate a regional Community Development Corporation (CDC) to assist communities and businesses to become self-sustaining, successful and competitive.
• To ensure economic conditions that are equitable and inclusive of black business and community interests.
• To provide representation for disparity issues as they relate to the city and county's economic growth, development policies and plans.
• To provide for training, technical assistance, counseling, marketing, trade shows and other forms of market exposure opportunities.
• To work with government agencies, private banking and financial institutions to improve access to capital for African American businesses and communities.
• To develop and sustain relationships with local, county, state officials and major corporations.
• To work with other business leaders on key economic issues of concern to the African American community.
